VIX is a virtual undersea experience designed for a 24-person, piston driven theater with wrap around screen and 4D effects. Developers at Sensorama, New York wanted sound to be felt as much as heard and needed the film’s soundtrack to help visitors to empathize with the fate of the ship and ship’s computer.

MorrowSound both developed the 21-speaker sound system for the ride and designed the ride’s 18.3 channel soundtrack. Imaginative and visceral, the design included attacks from sharks, an underwater laser, fantastical mechanical and power sounds, and climatic escape through erupting volcanoes.
