NCH wanted the magic forest, a huge common area at the hospital, to feel as fun a playground and as engaging as a petting zoo. Giant fabricated trees, oversized animals, and climbable structures invite children to play and explore.

To make the fantastical space feel even larger, MorrowSound installed soundscapes of giant trees, wild animals, and choruses of hidden songbirds throughout the day for an evocative mix of fun and mystery. At intervals coordinated with mechanical cuckoo clocks in the Aviary, bursts of birdsong bounce around the space - an effect that's both funny and pretty at the same time.
