Smithsonian's Arctic Studies Center strive to be both a place of learning and of community pride. For the museum's Window Walk Gallery, designers at RAA wanted to connect visitors to energy of various Alaskan landscapes, but also to the stories of those places.
A celebration of nature and identity, MorrowSound designed a non-repeating arctic soundscape of water fowl and songbirds, musk ox, sea mammals, and lots of icy weather. MorrowSound also produced a series of interviews with Indigenous peoples and edited these personal stories into segments that are dynamically woven into the audio landscape.
