Listening to the River was both an exhibit and science education project. The student group researched the watershed, documented and recorded their studies in field trips, and then learned about exhibit design, translating their presentations into museum displays.

MorrowSound designed the push-button audio kiosks for the exhibit from location recordings of Michigan watershed, including ones made by the student group. The exhibit featured interactive river - a ceiling projected, motion tracked video. For this area MorrowSound built a 3D ambience of Great Lakes sounds and river water. As visitors walked through the projected beam, their footsteps triggered splashes in the audio and coordinated ripples in the video.
